Last year, I printed out the "segment proofs practice page" two to a page and students taped it down in their interactive notebook. This year, I am going to reserve the computer lab and have students do notes on Google Slides and complete a digital activity over filling out two column segment proofs.

Segment Proofs Lesson/Notes: 

I am going to have students fill out the reference sheet independently by using their notebook or "googling" it. Students will go to "insert" and click "text box" and type in the missing terms/definitions. We will review this together as a class before going on. 

We will be completing the Segment Proofs Practice together as a class by collaborating and discussing what goes after each statement and reason. I am going to cold call on students to type it in their Google Slides and project it to the class in hopes that this results in discussion and collaboration among students. 

Segment Proofs Activity:
After the lesson, students will complete the following digital activity over segment proofs. I broke it down to 3 levels because of the needs of my students. Find the level that best fits your classroom.

Level A: This level has the scrambled statements and reasons (I use this level for most of my special education/ELL students). Students are able to interactively move the statements and reasons into the correct spot. 

Level B: This level has the table set up for students so they know how many statements and rasons they need (I give my on-level geometry students this level). Students can press insert text box into each box and write out the statements and reasons.

Level C: This level is blank and normally reserved for pre-AP students. 

Directions for Google use:

1. After you have downloaded the resource into your Google Drive, make a copy to share with your students. It is important to make a copy so that students do not make any changes to the original.

2. Share the COPIED link to your students (not the original). Make sure that you press "can edit".

3. Students will then be able to access the copied link in their Google Drive. When students are finished, they can share the final product with you.

Segments Foldable & Activity

This is an interactive notebook page idea for segments. I am going to create a PowerPoint where there will be segment diagrams and students have to figure out which term to draw it under (this is the left side). 

The next page in our INB will be this cut and paste activity where students will sort cards by diagram, equation, and value of 'x'. I am probably going to use this activity as a lesson and cold call on students to come up to the document camera to put the cards into the correct spot and students will have to explain their reasoning to their classmates. 

I am in the process of converting this activity into a Google Digital Activity.

Google/INB Activity for Calculating Slope from 2 Points

This is a Google Slides and Interactive Notebook page idea for calculating slope from two points. I have students tape this page down on the left side of their notebook and have them show their work on the right side.

I am planning to do the following flip-book on a block day (100 minutes) and I wanted to split the time up by doing activities in between each topic. Once we finish the slope flap, students will turn to the next page in their INB and complete this card sort activity.

I also made this into an interactive Google Slides activity for students to move the pieces. They can choose what color they want to use and delete the other 2 slides.

Google Parallel and Perpendicular Lines Proofs Activity

This is my second Google Digital Activity that I created today so I am going to upload it while catching up on the Game of Thrones!

I split this proofs activity into 3 "levels"for students. Below are descriptions and pictures of each level.

Google Parallel Lines Cut by Transversal Activity

Below is a tweet that inspired me to convert the following activity into a Google Digital Activity. I loved this activity last year, but I literally spent hours cutting these cards out.

We are not 1:1 yet, but I can reserve chromebooks/ipads/computer lab once school starts back up. Below are pictures of how the Parallel Lines activity looks in Google. 

As students work through the cards, they will be writing down the correct order on slide 3 by moving the letters into the corresponding blanks.

Students are able to move the pieces to slides 5-10 and will be able to show their work below the problems. This is where I will leave room for student choice in how they want to solve the problems. But, I added this option to show students that there will be 6 total slides if they want to fit 2 problems per slide.

After creating this activity, I think it is safe to say that I AM OBSESSED!!! This has me researching grants to write so that I can receive my own personal set of Chromebooks. My next Google Digital Activity that I am working on is an interactive activity for triangle congruence proofs.
